One of the most exciting development in batteries is the new eco-friendly Silicon Crystal Battery. The new silicon battery's main advantages are; low cost (as compared to lithium-ion), high capacity, high current output, rapid recharge time, low temperature performance, long life span, and environmental friendliness. In many cases, where weight and size are not the primary concern, these batteries are often preferable to lithium batteries! Other feature, of primary importance to EV users, is its ability to be rapidly quick-charged (flat to 90% capacity in less than 2 hours!) with no long term damage to the battery.Based on an electrolyte of liquid low sodium silicate compound, the battery can operate normally in extreme temperatures from -50 deg C to +60 deg C. The silicon battery has a higher charge density per kilogram than traditional lead acid batteries, with twice the life (up to 400 full recycles, 1000 cycles at 50% depth of discharge). |

INTERNAL RESISTANCE
- GMX silicone battery has a smaller internal resistance generally 2 mili-ohm twelve to thirteen times smaller than that of the lead-acid battery. Furthermore, there is little or no visible temperature rise during usage of the silicone battery. The lead-acid battery has a relatively large internal resistance during usage generally 25 milli-ohm in the 12V series, the holes generated in the maintenance free lead-acid battery makes the internal resistance even greater.
