Electric Mid-Drive Units and Frame Adapters

The Electric Mid-Drive Unit that we manufacture is our flagship product. Attach one to your recumbent bike and you will instantly have fast, comfortable, pollution free, and affordable transportation. And you'll have more fun than you can possibly imagine.

Electric Mid Drive Units
To simplify ordering, we've separated out the different components that make up our Electric Mid-Drive. Rather than have dozens of different variants, several for each bike, we now just sell the basic EMD Unit and a series of what we call Frame Adapters that customize the unit for different bikes. All you need to order is the Electric Mid Drive Unit, a frame adapter for your particular bike or trike, and a battery system. If you're a homebuilder, have talked to us about what it takes to make your own frame adapter, and are putting together your own battery system, then the Electric Mid-Drive Unit is all you need.

Electric Mid Drive Unit, EcoSpeed 700W motor system
Combines a small, quiet running and lightweight motor with EcoSpeed's new fully digital high performance motor controller, designed by us and made with advanced US electronics manufacturing. This intelligent motor controller will work with almost any battery system from 24 volts through 48 volts. You can use a small battery to save weight or cost, or a large one for maximum performance. The controller will automatically adjust for whatever power that the battery can supply up to the rated maximum of the motor. The controller is software based, so that as we add features you can upgrade your controller to take advantage of them.

Add the Cycle Analyst watt-hour meter. Accurately tracks the amount of charge removed from the battery. More useful that so-called battery fuel guages which attempt to guess how much charge is left. Frame Adapters
Frame Adapters customize an EMD Unit to fit a particular recumbent bike. The Frame Adapter is where you find our Exact Fit Technology�. A Frame Adapter is not just mounting brackets but rather a carefully engineered solution that adapts the EMD to a particular bike. The Frame adapter alters the appearance of the EMD to match the bike, contains custom CNC machined mounting pieces, and, where necessary, parts to route the chain line around obstacles on the bicycle frame. Frame adapters also include all instructions needed to install an EMD Unit on a particular bike.

Simple bolt on mounting. Replaces existing 3-speed mid-jackshaft. The full suspension, off-road capable RX and FX can become outrageous powered recumbent mountain bikes. Leave the uprights at the bottom of the hill.

Easy Racers Tour Easy and Gold Rush, Clamp On Mount
Clamps onto the Tour Easy or Gold Rush Replica frames. Has a front chain tensioner to allow continued use of front rings. The TE and GRR are some of the fastest electric conversions we've made. Add a fairing and tail sock and really fly. The need for six clamps on the lightweight Easy Racers tubes makes this frame adapter expensive. Also, because of the many small variations in TE and GRR frames over the years, you may have to do minor modifications to your frame to get this unit to fit. If you're buying a new TE or GRR, consider ordering the version with tabs welded on at the factory to fit our assist.
