Phoenix: Phoenix is the high-end. Imagine going from zero to 30-something MPH in less than 20 seconds on a bike! Phoenix is the fastest, most serious electric bike system we know of. It outperforms many 50cc gasoline motor scooters. We offer it because we want electric transportation to be appealing to more people. There are three motors in the Phoenix line. The Racer (36 MPH), the Cruiser (30 MPH) and the Brute (25 MPH). Any of the three motors can be powered by the 3640 (36V 40A) controller or the 4840 (48V 40A) controller.

RoadRunner: RoadRunner is a brushless motor system, which means energy is transferred more efficiently into the motor than a brushed motor system. That translates into greater range (more miles per gallon in car-talk). RoadRunner is the system most people will use for daily commutes on bike trails. Since a brushless motor has no theoretical limit to its life other than bearings, it can do the high miles.

Sparrow: Sparrow is ElectricRider's entry-level system. It uses very simple brushed motor technology and performs very well. In fact, Sparrow may represent the best value in terms of price/performance. Motor brush life expectancy is between 2500 and 3000 miles - 2 to 6 years for most people. Brushes can be replaced for about $20, but it requires a press to overcome the strength of the magnets. This is a quality system that fits with almost anyone's budget.
