Crystalyte
  Hub Motor Kits
power the bike using a hub motor built into the bicycle wheel.

is a powerful hub motor kits available in 4 models and a light weight Roadrunner Model. Wheels builds are available on 16"(Roadrunner Only), 20", 24" 26" and 700c wheels.

PHOENIX II electric wheels require no periodic maintenance. There are no belts, chains, sprockets or pulleys. The spokes of the wheel are directly connected to the electric motor. Direct coupling eliminates losses in the transmission of power to the wheel.

PHOENIX II electric wheel systems come complete with everything you need to convert a pedal bike to an electric bike. The installation guide takes you step-by-step through the conversion process. If you have questions, you can call ElectroRide or the parts and service number included with your kit. ElectroRide encourages builders to get creative with their electric power systems.

Warning: The PHOENIX II are some of the most powerful off-the-shelf systems available for bikes. The PHOENIX II motor is about 200 mm in diameter and weighs either 10 lbs. (for the front version) or 16 lbs. (for the rear). It offers great torque and top-end speed - and can handle the current of larger controllers. The PHOENIX II 26" front wheel motor with fully inflated street tires and a 180-lb. rider can reach 20 to 45 mph on a dry, paved surface.

Street Legal
To meet US Federal law as it defines bicycles, electrically powered vehicles cannot exceed 750 watts or 20 MPH, and must have functioning pedals. Check your local laws and choose your power system accordingly if you intend to ride on-road.

Above Street Legal
PHOENIX II systems exceed limits that define a bicycle under US Federal law. As with all power systems, their use and suitability to a given application is the responsibility of the buyer. ElectroRide is an advocate of all electrically powered vehicles, regardless of their use. Choose a bike with good brakes, inspect them often, and replace worn shoes or pads as needed. You'll be putting a lot more miles on a bike powered by PHOENIX II than a pedal bike, and brakes become very important at the speeds you will reach.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
*DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE NUTS on the AXLE! This WILL strip the axle bolts.
*Sapim 13 gauge spokes custom cut by Phil Wood.
*Re-true spokes (if necessary) within the first 200 miles of use to ensure long lifetime of ANY wheel build.
*Freewheels all come with 11T for max pedal assist speed. For even higher pedal assist speed consider Schlumpf 60T or 65T front chain ring.
*We have fit all rear frames so far with 8, 9, and even 10 speed freewheels. If needed, a simple washet or the disc spacer may be used to create more space for larger freewheels.
*Torque arms are required for safety in front hubs. Rear hubs should not require torque arm but it is still recommended.
*NEVER mount controllers inside a bag or box. Controllers have fins on them so they can be air cooled and they are sealed to protect them from the elements.
*Range estimate for batteries assumes a safe 70% depth discharge, NO PEDAL assist, and level terrain. Pedaling will increase range.
*We UNDERESTIMATE the range on purpose. Maximum range should be determined by monitoring Volts and Amps Hours on the Cycle Analyst or other E-Display, not miles.
*Take only short trips for first few charge cycles. Batteries that are new or have not been used for a while are unbalanced, so a "break in" period will increase performance and lifetime.
